Gas and electrical servicing

Gas Servicing

Cobalt are legally responsible for carrying out an annual Gas Safety Check to all of our homes to ensure that all gas appliances and pipe work are safe for our customers to use.

This safety check is required every year and our contractor Sure Maintenance will contact you directly with a date and time for your check. If this is not convenient for you, please contact Cobalt Solutions on 0330 303 2222 to rearrange your appointment.

It is important for the safety of you and your neighbours that this annual check is completed on time.

Electrical Servicing

Cobalt is responsible for carrying out an electrical safety check to each of our properties to make sure that the wiring and electrical fittings are safe.

All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use. They should be inspected and tested to check they are in a satisfactory condition for continued use and your safety. The electric service may be referred to as ‘periodic inspection and testing’. These are carried out by Cobalt’s approved contractor, Sure Maintenance every 5 years.

The electric service checks the condition of the electrical outlets, switches and wiring in your house.

Our contractor will need access to the mains board/fuse box and all rooms to check the sockets, switches and light fittings. They will carry out any necessary repairs during the electric service. Your electric service will last approximately 1-2 hours.

If you have received a letter informing you that your home is due an Electrical Servicing you can call Sure Maintenance to select an appointment time slot on 07789 570 015 (Office hours 9am – 5 pm). You can also leave a message but please remember to leave your phone number. Sure Maintenance may call  directly to carry out this work but if it is not convenient you can rearrange a more suitable time.

Carbon Monoxide – are you aware?

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless highly toxic gas that is produced by the incomplete combustion of any hydrocarbon fuel e.g. coal, charcoal, wood, oil, petrol, diesel, natural gas and liquid petroleum gas (LPG).

Make sure you protect yourself and your family by having all your hydrocarbon fuel appliances (cookers, boilers, fires and heaters) serviced and your chimney swept every year.
