Our principal activity is the management, maintenance and improvement of affordable homes for rent. We address the social, economic and environmental problems faced by communities in our area.
In order to deliver this objective we are committed to actively encouraging tenants and other local people to take a lead role in influencing our decision making. The Board form a valued part of this process. Our Board of Management is made up of mainly local people who give up their time on a voluntary basis to work alongside our Senior Management team. The Board is made up of:
• 6 tenants (including the current tenant Chair)
• 2 local authority nominees
• 4 independent members
• 2 non-voting co-optees
The Board is elected each year by our shareholders who represent a diverse range of community partners and chairs from our three Neighbourhood Committees. Having shareholders enables community representatives to be involved in decision making and have a real say on how Cobalt is managed.
