Over the Easter holidays, Cobalt funded a junior football tournament at Scargreen playing fields which was co-ordinated by local resident and Kop-A-Bite FC coach Mark Barrow for young people from across Cobalt’s neighbourhoods. Mark, who has worked as a volunteer with the Youth Service said that he organised the Norris Green Community Cup to bring together the junior teams from across the area
Cobalt Youth Board Member Peter Halliday (16) also supported the competition by submitting and coaching a team of young boys from Norris Green in the under 12s Cup. Led by Peter ‘Cobalt United’ went on to win the competition out right after some fantastic wins against established teams from across the area.
Peter Halliday [top left] said:
‘I wanted to organise the team so that the lads had something to do over Easter, I knew we were in with a chance of winning but we’re made up that we actually won the cup!’
