Tackling Crime

Tackling Crime

Cobalt Housing have helped fund 2 new quad bikes to help keep your community safe. Working directly with partners from Cobalt Housing and Alt Valley Neighbourhood Service, Merseyside Police have secured full funding to purchase two new quad bikes, kit and training for officers and three years maintenance for the vehicles.  Chief Inspector McWilliam said “The quad bikes will assist in the deployment of officers to antisocial behaviour (ASB) hotspots along the Loop Line, which is often used by offenders as a route to and from crime and to provide reassurance to communities particularly in more remote areas of Alt Valley. In tackling crime and anti-social behaviour we have seen real success in the last year with a 20% reduction in ASB, a 31% reduction in offences of burglary, 36% reduction in criminal damages and reductions in every other crime category.”

“We have a very positive working relationship with local partners. I have to compliment both Cobalt Housing and Alt Valley Neighbourhood Service for supporting Total Policing and demonstrating investment in tackling key issues for our communities. The quad bikes will be a prominent sight during Operation Safe Space this summer.”
