Dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour

Anti-Social Behaviour can take a number of forms:

• noise nuisance
• youths causing annoyance
• neighbour disputes
• rubbish dumping
• harassment
• racial harassment etc.

We expect our tenants to respect their neighbours and others within the community. Cobalt has a dedicated Team of Anti-Social Behaviour Housing Officers who investigate all reports of anti-social behaviour. We take action against people causing anti-social behaviour by working with the police, the Council’s Environmental Health Department and other agencies and investigate cases thoroughly. If you report an incident of anti-social behaviour, we will meet you within 5 working days to discuss it further or within 24 hours if it is a serious complaint.

Support for Victims:

Cobalt Housing offers help and support to victims of ASB and other crimes by providing:

• Access to other agencies such as Victim Support
• Legal action to prevent the nuisance/harassment from occurring
• Use specialist professional witness services to collect evidence

Our policy is to tackle anyone acting anti-socially, not simply to move the problem elsewhere. We will take appropriate action depending on the situation.

To find out more please see our policy and procedures for ASB and our ASB Strategy.
A full copy of our policy and procedures is available, please contact a member of the ASB team.
